COVID 19 Frequently Asked Questions

Hawks Cay Resort has a longstanding commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff. As we continue to assess and respond to the challenges facing all of us due to COVID-19, we have made changes to the guest experience to ensure the safety of everyone on property. As always, we look forward to welcoming you to our island paradise and hope you enjoy the fresh air, wide-open spaces, and friendly faces serving you.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our current protocols and guidelines.

 

What are you doing to keep the guestrooms and villas safe for guests?
We have modified our housekeeping services so that all guestrooms are cleaned and sanitized to meet the guidelines issued by public health agencies and the American Hotel Lodging Association.

  • Guest staying in hotel accommodations will receive daily service. Room attendants will replace towels and amenities, remove trash, and clean the room.
  • Guest staying in villa accommodations can request service with 24 hours advance notice. We ask guests who need new towels or trash taken, to leave it on the porch and we will replenish. Please email Front Desk Leaders [email protected] or call 305-743-700 to schedule villa housekeeping service.

If you would like to opt out of housekeeping service during your stay, please notify the front desk at the time of check-in.

How have you enhanced your public spaces and changed staffing procedures to keep guests safe?
Hawks Cay Resort has been awarded the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) Seal of Commitment, which is a promise that the resort has met enhanced safety and sanitation standards as designed by FRLA to ensure the safety of guests and employees.

Upon arrival at the resort, you will notice some modifications to our picturesque location. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the property and there is signage reminding guests to follow proper hand hygiene. You’ll also see our housekeeping team regularly as we have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting high traffic, high touch areas including counters, elevators and the buttons therein, door handles, and restrooms.
 

What guidelines do guests need to follow while on property?
We ask that all guests, as well as our staff limit the potential of physical contact as much as possible. Proper social distancing of at least six (6) feet of separation is required in all public spaces indoors and outdoors including the pool area. Additionally, facial coverings are suggested in all indoor public spaces.

What is the current cancelation policy?
We require notice of cancellation seven days prior to check-in to receive a full refund. Cancellation policy may vary by promotion booked, certain exclusions may apply. A deposit equivalent to the amount of one night required to secure your stay.

FRLA Seal of CommitmentWe are proud to have earned, FRLA’s new standard for hospitality safety and sanitation practices, the FRLA Seal of Commitment, demonstrates that an establishment has meet thorough safety and sanitation standards. When guests see an FRLA Seal of Commitment sticker on an establishment’s door, they can be confident the business is taking the necessary steps to be sanitary and safe, and staff are well trained.
