At Hawks Cay Resort, we understand that your pup is an important member of your family. That's why we've gone above and beyond to ensure that your dog's visit to our pet-friendly Florida Keys resort is nothing short of exceptional.
When you stay with us, you'll be assigned a dedicated Pup Planner who will be there to assist you every step of the way. Whether you need travel information or recommendations for pet services, your Pup Planner will ensure that your vacation is seamless and stress-free.
Pet-Friendly Services and Amenities
To make your dog's stay even more enjoyable, we provide a Vacay Pup amenity package at check-in. If you need any additional pet supplies during your stay, simply let your Pup Planner know, and we'll arrange for them to be delivered to your room.

Fees and Requirements
Hawks Cay Resort prioritizes pet health, requiring up-to-date vaccinations as part of their commitment to maintaining a healthy environment. For up to two pets, a nonrefundable fee of $150 per night applies. Please display your Pup Pass Bandana on your pet or tied to the leash.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes welcome! Hotel rooms only. Villas do not allow pets.

Your furry friend will want to stretch his legs while visiting our resort, and we’ve got just the place for that! Our Pup Paradise dog park offers plenty of space to run off extra energy.

Vacay Pup Cabanas
Protect your pup from the sun and keep them cool and comfortable while relaxing poolside with their very own cabana at Tiki Beach! Complimentary and available upon request on a first come, first served basis. Please see a Tiki Beach attendant to reserve.
Dog-Friendly Charters
Treat your furry friend to a day at sea with pet-friendly charters available at our resort in the Florida Keys. Several of our charter boats welcome dogs, including Gotcha, Tarpon Time and I’m Hooked-Pets. Please contact the marina to learn more.

Doggy Dining
Pups are invited to indulge in a new pet-friendly dining menu designed by the resort’s food & beverage team, offered at the pet-friendly dining outlets on property. Featuring tail-wagging items like roasted pig ears, a ‘quarter hounder’ burger and ‘dog beer,’ the pet-friendly menu can be found at Marketplace, Angler & Ale, and Tiki Beach.

After 40 years, why is Hawks Cay Resort now implementing the Vacay Pup program?
What animals are allowed?
Only dogs are permitted on property as a part of the Vacay Pup program.
Is there a size/weight limit for pets?
We accept all dogs, large and small.
Are there any specific breeds not allowed?
o We welcome all dogs breeds however, we do ask that you ensure your dog provides the proper behavior within the resort.
Is there a limit to how many pets a guest can bring?
Guests are permitted to bring up to two (2) dogs per room.
Can we stay in any room at the resort with our dog?
Only Hotel accommodations will be available for guests staying with their dogs. Guests staying with dogs may not book Villa accommodations at Hawks Cay.
Are there any fees associated with bringing my pet(s)?
Dogs are permitted with an added $150 per night nonrefundable fee for up to two pets for seven nights.
Do I have to register my pet(s) upon booking my stay?
Your pet should be registered with the property prior to or upon arrival. All pets not registered will be subject to a $50 recovery fee. You will receive a “Pup Pass” at check-in to be placed on each pet’s leash. The tag must always be visible on the pet.
Will pets be welcome at onsite restaurants/bars?
The Pup Pass entitles the pups to the outdoor seating area of Marketplace, walking-paths, Pup paradise area, Tiki Beach, outdoor area of Angler & Ale.
Are my pets required to be vaccinated?
Your pet(s) must have all recommended vaccinations currently up-to-date, and you agree to obtain and provide current records from your licensed veterinarian regarding your pet(s) should Hawks Cay Resort request this information from you at any time.
Are there any onsite relief/walking areas for my pet?
All guests must utilize the Pup Paradise Park area outside of building 4 for their pet needs to ensure a pleasant environment for everyone. We ask that you pick up after your pet and place waste in its proper disposal bin.
Will housekeeping be notified of my pet?
Guests should attach the special Pup In Room hanger to their door to alert housekeeping that a pet is occupying the guest room. Housekeeping will not enter your room throughout your stay. For specific requests please contact the front desk.
Does Hawks Cay Resort offer dog sitting?
The resort does not currently offer dog sitting, but we are happy to recommend nearby dog sitting facilities in the area.
Can I leave my dog in my room alone?
The preference is that you do not leave your dog alone as they may be lonely. In the event you do leave your pup for nap time please note that we need a cell phone number on file for you in case your pup wakes up and needs you.
Who is the Pup Planner?
Guests can consult the onsite Pup Planner to assist with any travel information for the owner to ensure a seamless Pawcation. This will include pup-friendly locations within the Keys, delivery of pet supplies and assistance with local services if needed.
Does Hawks Cay Resort offer dog food and equipment for sale or rental onsite?
All pets will receive the Vacay Pup amenity package, including leash tag, pup door-sign, in-room dog bowl, pup paradise relief bags, Vacay Pup play ball for our VIPs (very important pups), and dog beds upon request.
We are happy to offer a pup pick-up menu and Hawks Cay pup merchandise for sale at Marketplace. Additional culinary and retail offerings will be announced as the program develops.
What activities can my dog participate in? i.e. Can my dog swim in the pools and lagoon, join my fishing charter, sit with me at the spa, etc.?
Your dog may accompany you to Tiki Beach however, we do ask that they do not go for a dip. The dogs are NOT allowed in the pool areas. The Marketplace patio is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee with your four legged friend. Angler & Ale will also be hosting 5’0 clock puptails that will be located on the patio of Angler & Ale.
Can my dog be a part of my wedding at Hawks Cay?
Of course! Dogs that fit within the parameters noted above are more than welcome to be a part of your special day!
Does my dog always need to be on a leash?
Yes, dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
