Hawks Cay Appoints New Director of Rooms

The largest resort destination in the Florida Keys, Hawks Cay Resort, announces Jordyn Boonie as the newly appointed Director of Rooms. In her new role, Boonie is now responsible for overseeing the housekeeping, front desk, concierge, and guest services departments, along with ensuring that they are running efficiently, and all guest needs are being taken care of. 

“At Hawks Cay, we greatly value our human capital and make our guest experience our number one priority,” said Sheldon Suga, vice president and managing director of the resort. “Jordyn’s work ethic is impeccable, and guests remember her by name. We are proud to promote her into this new role, where she will continue serving our guests to ensure that they are well taken care of and that their stay with us exceeds all expectations.” 

Most recently, Boonie served as the resort’s front desk manager, where she was the face of customer-resort relations. Boonie brings with her more than nine years of destination resort experience having gained experience with four other hotels over the years. She’s held various positions ranging guest services coordinator, front desk manager, assistant director of front office, and general manager. 

She has worked with several hotels and resorts across Ohio, her home state, like Hotel Breakers, Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark Resort, Sawmill Creek Resort, Lighthouse Point and Sandcastle Suites; Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark in Pennsylvania; and Courtyard by Marriot Councill Bluffs in Iowa. 

Boonie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management from Ohio University, along with a host of Marriott Connect U leadership training certificates.
