Did you know that 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Hawks Cay Resort? From humble beginnings to becoming a Florida Keys icon, Hawks Cay is thrilled to celebrate its anniversary with exclusive programs and special offers all year long. The island of Duck Key has a rich history dating back to 1775, when it was named by British General George Gauld. Over the years, it has played host to presidents, endured hurricanes, and became home to the Indies Inn in 1951. However, it was in 1984 that Hawks Cay Resort came to life, transforming the Indies Inn into the beloved resort destination it is today.
Since then, Hawks Cay has continued to evolve, introducing new amenities, additional villas, and cherished programs like Heroes Salute. In 2018, after weathering Hurricane Irma, the resort underwent a remarkable $50 million renovation and redevelopment project. The result? A stunning new coastal casual design, two additional restaurants, an expanded Oasis Cay area, and a plethora of new programming and amenities for guests to enjoy. To kick off the festivities, Hawks Cay invites guests to enjoy the "40th Anniversary – Now and Then" offer, providing a complimentary fourth night and a $40 daily dining credit for bookings until March 31, 2024. In February, the resort launches the “40 Summers and Counting – Endless Savings” offer, providing 20% off stays and 50% off per person on Sunset Cruises in April through June.
This year, the resort debuted its new pet-friendly program, Vacay Pup! The rest of the year brings more exciting news, including the completion of a marina renovation that is set to elevate guest experience, provide enhanced facilities and a new retail outlet for water enthusiasts. Guests can now indulge in brunch at Angler & Ale, featuring the restaurant’s new weekend menu showcasing mimosa flights, a Castaway Bloody Mary, and an array of delectable dishes (including options for our four-legged friends).
