Calm seas = lovely conditions05/13/2013
What I love about the weather in the keys is one day its really breezy, the next day its flat calm and like a lake out there PLUS perfect visibility. Like today on our snorkle trip! -
Local mangroves04/30/2013
There are thousands of species of Flora and Fauna that are found in the keys. One of our favorites are the mangroves. Here are a couple fun facts that will help you differentiate between the three different types.
Red mangroves- found closest to the water, has arching prop roots that make it look as though the tree is walking across the surface of the water.Black mangroves- found farther inland, is surrounds by many finger-like roots. Their leaves excrete excess salts through special glands.
White mangroves- found farthest inland, has thick, light green leaves, the same color on both sides.

Well now that the April showers have passed we are enjoying the beautiful sunny days of summer. Today we went jetsking with a family from Conneticut. We are also training a new associate to be an exceptional jet ski guide, as you can see he already loves his job! Welcome Elio! -
Spring Break 201303/11/2013
Spring Break is one of our favorite times of year in the keys. Wonderful weather and great events - Its usually kicked off by the local Seafood Festival in Marathon and lasts about a month and a half. That month and a half is filled with happy guests, so excited to be away from school and families looking to keep the kids busy. Luckily for them we have plenty of activities to keep even the most restless child (or adult) busy. If your joining us later in the month we will also be having our famous Moonlight and Margarita cruise on March 27th! Details to follow

Its beginning to look alot like Christmas!12/02/2012
Last night Hawks Cay hosted a beautiful boat parade that we were lucky enough to be a part of. As part of the Christmas in the Keys celebration, this was definitely our favorite event, coming in a close second was the golf cart parade the evening before. Our rental fleet and Blue were decorated and it gave us all the opportunity to truly be thankful for what we have. -

Have no fear winter is not here!11/28/2012
November, December and January are some of our favorite months here in the Keys. The temperatures are cooler, the humidity isn’t as traumatizing and the water is great! Yes, some days during these months may land lock us because of the wind, but the days when we get to go out on the water are superb! Fishing for Sailfish is a great option on our rental boats, snorkeling the reef and paddleboarding are met with glassy conditions, jet ski adventures are fun no matter what and who can forget the eye above the skies when you parasail. We are so thankful everyday for getting to work in such an amazing place. -
November is here11/03/2012
Where has this year gone? We can’t believe its November already. We have had some beautiful conditions the past couple days, I dare say some of the prettiest days of the year. The water is cooling down a bit, but that isn't deterring us from enjoying the water. Snorkel trips, jet-ski adventures, rental boats, kayaks and paddle boards have all been going out. For those who do not want to get wet the sunsets have been remarkable on the Sunset cruises and the view from parasailing has been pristine. The land lovers have also been enjoying cooler temperatures on the Segway tours. Keep in mind that cooler temperature to us means its in the low 80’s/high 70’s. We hope to see you soon. -

Unfortunatley this event has been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Sandy offshore. Our thoughts go with everyone who will be affected by this storm. This storm needs to be taken seriously, please dont wait till the last minute to prepare! Our family at Sundance Watersports invites you to join us for the Monsters Ball aboard Blue the evening of October 26th. Goodbye Isaac08/28/2012
Issac has left us with some down branches and alot of puddles, but luckily we were narrowly missed. In these situations its always better to be safe than sorry! The sun is shining and we have a bit of a breeze, we are in the process of cleaning up the boats and the dock. We will be open for business later this morning. The Sundance Watersports family is sending prayers to those in Louisiana who will be affected by this storm. -

Why not hop on a Segway? These past couple days the conditions have not been favorable for some of our water activities, and while that may get you down, some of our adventurous guests have enjoyed our Segway tours! While each guide is different, they all show you what Duck Key and Hawks Cay has to offer, we also have some fun secret spots that we love to point out. It’s a fun way to enjoy the Florida Keys even when you may be land locked! -
