Sundance Watersports at Hawks Cay Resort offers on-the-water excitement for thrill seekers of all ages! Snorkel with vibrant sea creatures at the bright coral reefs. Kayak to remote islands. Rent a fishing boat and pursue trophy tarpon at the bridges. Parasail high above the ocean for a bird’s eye view of spotted eagle rays and nurse sharks. Hang on for an adrenaline-filled Jet Ski tour. What Sets Sundance Watersports Apart?
Owned by George and Cindy Shattuck, Sundance Watersports has been a staple at Hawks Cay Resort since 1995. Over the years we’ve expanded our operation as the resort has grown, adding a number of boats to our fleet and a diverse collection of exciting new experiences for Hawks Cay guests to enjoy.
Our newest addition, Blue, is a large party catamaran that is the ideal Florida Keys vessel for snorkel trips, private parties, corporate retreats and more.
In addition, we now offer Segway tours for those looking for a unique way to explore Duck Key and admire the beautiful homes, tropical foliage, and waterfront views. Segway tours are ideal for families looking to enjoy the beautiful warm weather while sharing a few laughs in the process.

What I love about the weather in the keys is one day its really breezy, the next day its flat calm and like a lake out there PLUS perfect visibility. Like today on our snorkle trip! -
Local mangroves04/30/2013
There are thousands of species of Flora and Fauna that are found in the keys. One of our favorites are the mangroves. Here are a couple fun facts that will help you differentiate between the three different types.
Red mangroves- found closest to the water, has arching prop roots that make it look as though the tree is walking across the surface of the water.Black mangroves- found farther inland, is surrounds by many finger-like roots. Their leaves excrete excess salts through special glands.
White mangroves- found farthest inland, has thick, light green leaves, the same color on both sides.

Well now that the April showers have passed we are enjoying the beautiful sunny days of summer. Today we went jetsking with a family from Conneticut. We are also training a new associate to be an exceptional jet ski guide, as you can see he already loves his job! Welcome Elio! -
Spring Break 201303/11/2013
Spring Break is one of our favorite times of year in the keys. Wonderful weather and great events - Its usually kicked off by the local Seafood Festival in Marathon and lasts about a month and a half. That month and a half is filled with happy guests, so excited to be away from school and families looking to keep the kids busy. Luckily for them we have plenty of activities to keep even the most restless child (or adult) busy. If your joining us later in the month we will also be having our famous Moonlight and Margarita cruise on March 27th! Details to follow

A: Our snorkel trips are $44 including gear and $39 if you bring your own.

A: Our snorkel excursions depart daily and include bottled water on the boat, instruction, and, of course, we have snorkel gear and wetsuits available. The trips are $44 with our gear or $39 if you are bringing your own.
Jon asked :teenage boys/jet skiing Q: Are there any other age restrictions for any watersports you offer? I'll have two 16 y/o boys with me. Any suggestions on what might appeal to them? Both are very fit and athletic. Thanks in advance. Jon
A: Other than the jetskiing limitations mandated by Florida law our only other manditory age requirement are with the Segways. Minimum age for the Segway is 12 years old.

A: Florida law states that the minumum age to rent a Jetski is 22 or 18 with a boaters license. Younger kids can still ride with an adult.

A: Our snorkel trips depart daily and are three hours long. You can book those directly by calling 305.743.0145.
