Q: we have reservations April 27-29. We have a small trailered boston whaler we are bringing, we need to find out about parking & ramp usage. We would like both
A: Corinne, you have 2 options. As long as you are staying in a room or villa that is part of Hawks Cay's rental program, we can offer you dockage in our Small Boat Basin at a rate of $60/night plus tax. The rate includes an alongside slip with no power, trailer parking and use of our very nice paved boat ramp.
Space is limitted, so book quickly! If you prefer trailer parking only and have a Hawks Cay unit booked, the rate is $30/night and includes use of the ramp as well parking for your boat and trailer. Trailer parking only is on a space available basis. We look forward to sharing our beautiful resort and surrounding waters with you!
Q: Is it possible for me to dock my boat but not stay in a room? Could I just stay in by boat every night instead of paying for a room? What would the fee be, then?
A: Morgan, you can definately stay aboard in Hawks Cay's Main Marina and enjoy the resort's amenities. Our basic rate this time of year is $3.50/foot/night plus resort fee and tax, but if you confirm by giving us a deposit your stay by February 14, you can take advantage of our 14% discount for a stay of 2 or more nights. That's a great rate of $3.01/foot/night plus resort fee and tax on a Main Marina stay of 2 or more nights. Check our blog for more details.
Q: Are the fishing boat rates (i.e. Final Final) per person or for the boat during the time period? Thanks
A: Our charter boats are priced for the entire boat as private charters. You will however notice that 2 of the Backcountry boats are priced for 2 but can take a third for an addional fee.
While we find that most anglers really love the special experience of a private fishing charter with the crew working just for them, we do keep a split charter board at the marina for guests who hope to join other anglers to book a boat.
Q: hi! is there any type of boat shuttle that takes you from key west international to hawks cay resort? thanks!!
A: We are not aware of a boat shuttle from Key West to our resort, but you may find a private charter that could arrange that for you. If you were heading the other way, we could check pricing for our charter boats to run an unusual trip like this as a special charter.
Q: do you need a boat license to rent a boat for part of the day?
A: Sundance Watersports, our boat rental company, requires that you have some boating experience, but there is no license required at this time.
Q: What is the closest place to rent a sailboat?
A: Treasure Harbor Marina has bare boat and captained sail boats for live aboard charters. Many guests find a stay at hawks cay a perfect fit with a charter. You can even contact sundance watersports for a referal for hobiecats if those are more your style.
Q: I have 4 rooms reserved June 26-July 1. I wanted to rent a pontoon boat but your marina does not rent those. I found Pier 68 will rent a boat for two days. Can I pilot the boat to you basin and keep the boat there overnight. If so what is the fee? Really looking forward to our trip and would love to take all the kids out snorkeling,
Thanks for any advice you may have
Terri Crabb
A: Terri, we do have a limited amount of slips for non-liveaboard boats up to 32 feet LOA at a rate of $60/night plus tax during the dates you wish to be here. We also offer live-aboard slips with power hook up at a higher rate. Please contact us as soon as you commit to the rental so that we can get right to work on your slip reservations.
Q: Is the Hawks Cay an All-Inclusive resort?
A: While we do no have an all inclusive rate, both marina and resort guests pay a resort fee giving them access to a wide variety of amenities and activities. While some activities require a fee,You will pay only for the activities you wish to take part in, but be forwarned-everything you could want to do in the Florida Keys is available right here at Hawks Cay Resort and Marina!
Q: what is your phone number. The 888 on your website doesn't work
A: Greetings Paul,
I apologize about the phone number. If you are looking for fishing reservations please call 305-743-9000 opt 1, if you are looking for a marina slip reservation please call 305-743-9000 opt 2.
Looking forward to speaking with you
Q: Sailing Catamaran 47' LOA, 24' Beam, 4' Draft, 65' Mast Height. Can I get to your marina and can you accommodate me?
A: Rusty, we do have 2 slips that can accomodate your beamy cat, and we have several cats that come in on a regular basis. It is important that you try to book as soon as you have dates in mind due to limited availability. Contact us at 305-743-9000,option 2 once you decide the dates you wish to visit our beautiful resort!
Q: We are hoping to come for four nights October 10-14 maybe till the 15th. Are charters avaialble those days? How is stormy weather handled? I am fighting cancer and may have to cancel what are the cancel fees. Thanks for your help.
A: David, Thank you for your inquiry. October is a great fishing month, and most of the action is in close so you won't need to worry about running way offshore. The Reef and Offshore boats can fish for deliciuos Snapper within the range of 4-8 miles out and we will start to see Kingfish and maybe some early Sailfish right off the deep side of the Reef, about 4-6 miles out. Check out the boats on the Experience part of our website-many have cabins to duck out of the weather if your treatments have increased your sun-sensitivity or if you get into a rain shower.
The Backcountry boats do well with classic flats species like Bonefish, Permit and juvenile Tarpon in the Fall, or they can pursue other species such as Sharks, Jacks and Snapper in the bay. Be aware that Backcountry boats are open skiffs with no shade since they are geared toward casting with either light spin gear or fly gear. We book charters with a 3 day cancellation policy, and Captains make the weather calls on the day of the charter. They would certainly take into account any medical needs of their individaul anglers when making the weather call. We look forward to sharing our great fishing with you next month!
Q: Hi, do you offer any resort accomodations with a boat slip directly behind that can fit a 38' Center Console? We were looking to make a trip for two weeks in June/2012?
Thanks,
Steve
A: Good morning Steve. A 38 footer will need to come into our Main Marina. Approximately half of our Main Marina slips run along a section of villas often referred to as the Marina Village. While we cannot guarantee the location of your slip and villa until arrival date, we certainly make every effort to coordinate the two. Please let the reservation agent booking your resort accomodations know that you need to coordinate with a Main Marina Slip, and remind Marina staff that you want to coordiante the slip with your resort accomodations. June is one of our busiest months in the Marina, so book well in advance as we will have some sell outs to clubs and tournaments. Welook forward to seeing you!
Q: We are planning a vacation in January and staying in Marathon. Is your marina open to all guests or just ones at this particular resort? We are looking for somewhere that offers sunset cruises, is this an option here? If so can you tell me the times this is offered and the cost? Thanks so much!
A: Christina, while we would love for you to stay at Hawks Cay Resort, which is the finest resort in our area, you will have access to all marina activities even if you are not staying here. Sundance Watersports offers a beautiful Sunset Cruise on their large, stable powercat Blue. Schedules vary seasonally, but the cruise will be offered at least 4 nights a week in January and departs the docks about 1.5 hours prior to Sunset. You can find more details about the Sunset Cruise on the Hawks Cay Experience section of our website. You may also contact Sundnace Watersports directly at 305-743-0145. We look forward to sharing our beautiful resort and surrounding waters with you this winter.
Q: wondering if you have a boat ramp or just your in an out service
A: We do have a boat ramp available for public use. If you aren't staying at Hawks Cay the price would be $20, this does not included trailer parking however. If you are staying at Hawks Cay the price is included with either your slip or the trailer parking fee.
Q: Can you accommodate a 21.5 sailboat (small boat slip in water using ramp to put in and pull out) December 23 through December 30th? Are there special rates with hotel room?
A: Yes, as of now we do have a slip to accomodate your sailboat assuming that it does not have an abnormally deep draft for a 21' Sailboat. Rates in our small boat non-livaboard marina will range from $50/night to $60/night during that week. That area is only available if you are staying in a room or villa that is part of Hawks Cay. Rates in the liveaboard marina will start at $3/foot/night plus resort fee and tax and go up on December 24th to $3.50/foot/night based on a 30 foot minimum. The best way to check resort rates is to look on our website. The days between December 26 and New Years are some of the busiest of the year,so booking early is a great plan. We look forward to having you with us.
Q: We have a 27'6" express cruiser and are thinking about staying in your marina for a few days at some time in the future (staying on the boat at the dock so we'd require power and water). We have a small dog (15lb Bichon) and are wondering if you allow pets in your marina. We will not be needing a room in the resort.
A: Lynette, check out our Cruisin Critters Blog to see other dogs that love our marina! While dogs are not allowed in most of the resort area, many stay aboard in the marina. Your Cruisin' Critter will need to be leashed when off the boat, and of course, you will need to clean up behind your dog. We look forward to having you and your Bichon with us in the future!
Q: I'm planning my destination wedding there Dec.6th for 12-13 people and was looking to rent a boat/catamaran etc. for sunset wedding cruise. Any suggestions?
A: Congratulations, Lisa. I will pass your email address over to the owners of Sundance Watersports here on property. They have a large power catamaran which will be perfect for the occasion. Ideally, you are planning your wedding through our conference service department so that they can serve as your central coordinator for the cruise and the rest of your events. We look forward to seeing you in December!
Q: Was wondering if this is the kind of marina that has long term or "liveaboard" capability's? Say 6mos to a year. If so what are rates on a 40ft boat, if not can you recomend one somewhere in the keys? Thank you. David Sheakley
A: Hello Mr. Sheakley, If you take a look at our rates and specs page that will narrow down our options to month and multi month rates for you. Extended stay (3 months or more) slips are extremely limited and depend on size of boat. Please contact the dock office at Hawks Cay with further specifics on your vessel and the dates you are looking to join us and we can narrow down a rate. We look forward to speaking with you- 305-743-9000 opt 2.
Q: do you sell fresh ballyhoo, for trolling, and do you have some pre rigged?

Q: We haven't booked a room yet, but would like to know if you have any small boat (22 foot) slips available from July 23 to July 30, and what the daily fee is?

A: Hello Maureen! If your wish to keep your jet-skis on the trailer the fee would be $25.00 a night. Trailer parking does come on a first come first serve basis and cannot be reserved. The $25.00 fee also includes unlimited use of the boat ramp and is available to Hawks Cay guests only.
Q: Coming to Hawks Cay week of June 26th. I'd like to go fishing with my son (7 years old), father, wife, etc. Who can I contact concerning possible dates for 4-5 hour fishing trip??
A: Hello Robert and welcome to Hawks Cay! I hope you are extremely excited to be joining us as the weather has been beautiful! If you wish to find out about availability and/or book please call Hawks Cay Resort at 305-743-9000 opt 1.
Q: Do you have your own boat ramp or is there one close that can handle a 28ft cc. I am in the planning part for a 5 day trip towards the end of the year. Can you also tell me what dock rate would be and if there is trailer storage onsite.
A: Greetings Mr. Carmack, We do have our very own boat ramp available on property for both in house guests and outside guests to enjoy. With a 28 ft CC we can give you 3 options: keeping the boat on the trailer for your stay which is offered on a first come first serve basis, and also includes unlimited use of the ramp at $25 a night, keep your boat in the water in our basin which has no power and water for $50 a night and includes trailer parking and ramp use, or store your boat in the main marina at a by foot rate of $3.50 with a 30ft minimum, this includes power and water, trailer parking and use of the ramp. If you have further questions please contact Hawks Cay Marina dockoffice at 305-743-9000 opt 2.
Q: I'm coming from Marco island
what bridge is best to cross under us 1. my draft is 3.5ft and clearance is say12-15ft. thanks
A: Hello Mr. Brewer!
There are 2 ways to get to us from the west coast of Florida, and weather may largely determine which approach you take to get to us. Our channel entrance is on Oceanside of Duck Key, so you can either run a fairly open water approach to Moser Channel at the 7 Mile Bridge on the western side of Marathon or you can follow markers carefully on the ICW and cross to the northeast of us at the Channel 5 Bridge. The ICW route requires more attention to avoid shallow water near the ICW, but is also the more protected route.
If you cross to Oceanside at Moser channel, you will head back basically to the east in Hawk Channel. Find Marker 45 in Hawk Channel. From there take an approximate 30 degree heading to our channel entrance.
If you come through the Channel 5 Bridge, find Marker 44 in Hawk Channel. From there, take an approximate 255 degree heading to our channel entrance.
Our entrance is located on the south center of Duck Key and has EIGHT markers. The LAT/LONG about 100 yards off our entrance is 24 45 48 / 80 54 40.
Call us on channel 16 on your VHF for verification of proper channel entrance and for further instructions on marina location. We will switch over to channel 10 or 68.
We look forward to hearing more from you and to sharing our beautiful resort with you.
Q: Diana and I enjoy renting a boat to fish and snorkel from. Do you folks have boats for daily / multi day rentals?
We will be in the resort from October 1, 2011 / out October 8,2011.
Regards,
Gary
720-981-5176
A: Greetings Gary! Our watersports facility called Sundance Watersports has a small fleet of Grady Whites available for all your boating needs. Prices range from $219 to $259 for a half day, $299 to $349 for a full day. Please contact Sundance Watersports for the availability or Multi day rentals at 305-743-0145
Q: We are heading your way next week and bringing our boat. Plans were to fish offshore for mahi, but seas and winds look rough. Do you have hot spots charts that would help us locate fishing spots near Hawks Cay on the gulf side or bridges? We have a 23 ft CC and are concerned about navigating the flats. Can we get to and under the bridges on either side of the resort?
A: Hello Jim, The bridges on either side of Hawks Cay have limited clearance, Long Key bridge has 23ft while Channel 2 has a mere 10 feet. If you have a T-Top on your Center Console use your discretion when going under Long Key Bridge, but that would be your best option. We do have a couple fishing spots we can point out to you on a chart here at the Marina and we do sell Hot Spot charts as well. We are looking forward to you joining us!
Q: My fiance' and I are interested in booking our honeymoon at the resort. Could you please tell me the weather in February? What is temperature like? How is the fishing? Thanks
A: Hello Paula and congrats on your upcoming nuptials. The weather in February is difficult to predict. These past couple years we have had several cold fronts in February which drops the temperatures and makes it very gusty out, along with rainy. The average tempertaure is in the 70's. Weather in the keys is hard to predict as we can go from one extreme to the other in a matter of hours. Reef fishing is great in February, you can catch anything from Sailfish to Cobia. We look forward to you joining us!
Q: Booked a week at Hawks Marina Village in July. I am considering bring 18' boat. Can I drop in water there? Cost for dock per day, Dry store if dock too much $$$, etc.
A: Hello Anthony! I hope you are excited to join us in July! We have a couple different options for you. Depending on when you are joining us, we could keep your boat in the water in our Basin at the rate of $50 a night (July 23-29th it would be $75 a night), or you could keep the boat on a trailer for $25 a night. Trailer parking comes on a first come first serve basis and can get very limited in July especially around Lobster Mini-Season. If you have further questions or wish book a slip in our Basin, please call 305-743-9000 opt 2.
Q: Does the Dockside Store stock Amstel Light for my beer drinking pleasure while I am enjoying my rest and relaxation at the resort?
A: Yes, we sell 6 packs of Amstel Light and lots of other goodies at the Dockside Store. We're open from 6:30am to 10pm daily, so drop in to see us.
Q: I am inquiring about a charter for first week of June. I am looking for a 1/2 day charter to the reef. Price doesn't matter but I am in Europe so I need an email confirmation with details so I can pre-plan my vacation. Please respond as quickly as possible.
A: Hello Jared,
I emailed you the rates directly for you to review. We look forward to booking you a trip soon!
Q: Do your slips have Cable TV & Wi-Fi?
A: Hello DM,
All of our slips have cable hook ups on the power posts and Wi-Fi is accessible resort wide. Looking forward to you joining us!
Q: Do you have a government rate for rooms and dockage? If so what is it? I am looking to arrive on Thursday, 9/15/2011 and depart on Sunday, 9/18/2011
A: Robert, we will be offering special fall dockage rates in September. Your best Dockage rate might be our Heroes Welcome rate of 50% discount every other night of your marina stay. Please contact us with specifics about your boat so we can determine where best to pur your vessel.
Q: We have a 30' SeaRay and would like to boat down to Hawk's Cay for a weekend. We keep it at the Loggerhead Marina at Blackpoint in South Dade. Approximately how long will it take us to boat there?
A: Hilary, your travel speed and sea conditions will determine how long it takes to get from your marina to us. For a close reference point, we are 85 miles from Government Cut in Miami.
Q: I plan to come down 07/24-07/29 and I have a 19' center console. Can I get dock space based on the size of my boat or will I need to use the small boat basin? If it is the basin, is this basin somewhat protected and will I have access to fresh water?
A: Hello Erich,
The small boat basin is available for resort guests only. If you have a room reservation already, you should book your slip now, we can probably still get you into the small boat basin at a rate of $75.00 a night for mini season. The basin is protected and has hose hook ups at every slip, all you need to do is bring is your hose. Looking forward to you joining us for Lobster Mini Season.
Q: I am due to arrive from Ft. Lauderdale Friday 03/11/11 around 3pm. I already have a slip reserved. My boats draft is 4.5', is this a problem as to you entrance or other. If so is there a best time for high tide? or is this 4.5' draft not an issue to worry about when entering? thanks, Robert.
A: Hello Robert,
Welcome to Hawks Cay! Im sure you will enjoy your stay with us. As for the questions about your draft, with a draft of 4.5' you shouldn't have an issue but we would like to make sure that you don't try to enter at a low tide. The tides vary in time, especially around Duck Key, we can go over tides and try to plan a great time for you to arrive at our Marina and to also make sure that you enter through the correct channel entrance by contacting us directly at 305-743-9000 option 2.
Q: Do you still have a sailing school?
A: Hello Ann,
Unfortunatley the sailing school is no longer at Hawks Cay. Here is the number for the regional office: 888-454-7015, contact them to see if they still have any locations still in the keys.
Q: My wife and I are visiting in April and I would like to dolphin fishing. Who would you recommend?
A: Hello Chris,
All of our offshore/reef boats can take you on a Mahi Mahi trip. Early in April that trip can be done in a half day because the Mahi are closer to shore (8 to 10 miles offshore), once it gets to be later in April however, the Mahi move farther offshore and we highly suggest a full day. We have a variety of different options, from a 26’ Center Console to a 50’ Sportfish, all of which would work for a Mahi trip.
Q: I am looking into a 1/2 day fishing charter on april 5th or 6th. I would like to share a boat with someone. Can you keep my contact information available for anyone that would like to share a trip? Also, is there any fishing near the resort that i can do with a 2 and 5 year old from land?
A: Hello Kevin! Our half day fishing trips range from $600 to $1200. We can put your information up on the board we have here at the Marina which is for parties interested in splitting the cost of a charter. We have a couple fishing spots around the marina that we can point out to you. There are also fishing piers right next to US1 which offer quite a variety of fish. We look forward to seeing you in April!
Q: wondering the rates on boats 1/2 day ,full day, first week in april, maybe after some reds or snook if possible, might look at a dolpin or two,, just dreamin, thanks ..... bob&sheila,, from the frooozen state of minnesota
A: Hey Bob and Shelia! It was a lovely 76 outside today, windy but very sunny, we expect it to be a lot warmer in April. For a ½ day backcountry for 2 people the rate would be $450, for a full day back country for 2 people the rate would be $650. April is also prime season for our live bait tarpon trips- for 2 people it would be $500 and that’s a 4 hour trip. Our offshore trips for Mahi-Mahi range from half day’s running $650-$1200 to full day’s ranging $900-$1900. Looking forward to having you join us, you deserve a break from the freezing temperatures!
Q: We will be staying the first week in May what is the rental fee for an 18ft boat for 1/2 day or 1 full day?? Do you include fishing rods and snorkeling equiptment?
A: Hello Chris, we are looking forward to seeing you in May. Our water sports facility offers the 18 ft Grady White at $219 for a half day and $299 for a full day, prices are not inclusive of fuel. That does not include fishing rods or snorkeling equipment, but water sports does rent out both for your convenience. If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact Sundance Watersports at 305-743-0145.
Q: Am considering staying at Hawks Cay with my family and trailering our 30 ft outboard. Having read your Q & A I wanted to verify you have a ramp and trailer storage to accomodate me. Thanks, Tom
A: Hello Tom! We do have our boat ramp available from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm everday and limited trailer parking available. Trailer parking comes on a first come first serve basis and is $25.00/night. We also have our boat basin available for vessels with an LOA of 32 ft or less for $50.00/night (excluding some holidays), that would put your boat in the water for your stay. If you have any further questions or wish to book please contact the dock office at (305)743-9000 ext 2
Q: I am looking for dockage for one or two nights March 3rd & 4th. Private Affair II is 66 ft. and draws 5.3 ft. we requirer 2 -50 amp 220v. Please let me know if this is availible and any navagation information on entering your marina.
A: Rick, we need to beam of the boat to verify availability, but it looks likely that we can get you in if we book quickly. We will also want to discuss tides with you as we have an area in our channel which is 5 feet at mean low tide. Please contact us at 305-743-9000, option 2 or email your contact cell number to us at marina@hawkscay.com so we can get your slip booked while we still have a large dock open. THe dock office is open form 8am to 6pm daily.
Q: IF CRUSING DOWN THE ICW FROM MIA WHAT ARE THE DIRECTIONS AND PROCEDURES TO GET TO OUR ASSIGNED SLIP SHOULD YOU HAVE ONE AVAILABLE, HAVE NOT HEARD YET, 31'SEA RAY EXPRESS CRUSISER PORT 2 30 AMP POWER( take time)
A: Todd, if you are coming from the east coast of Florida, the easiest place to cross over for most boats is the Channel Five Bridge which is about 7.5 miles northeast of us. Channel Five joins Lower Matecumbe and Long Key. You will come out in Hawk Channel near marker 44. From Hawk Channel Marker 44, take an approximate 255 heading to our 8 channel markers on the center of the Atlantic side of Duck Key. Lat/Long within visual range of our entrance markers is 24 45 48, 80 54 40. Hail us on channel 16 VHF, and we will switch to working channel 10 or 68 to give you further directions.
Q: I plan on coming down this week. I have a 70 foot Motor Yacht drawing 5.5 to 6.o feet.
I note in your correspondence with Ed Pratt that you don't recommend it.
However, you mention that you are looking for options for larger vessels. Have you found one ?
A: Stephen, at this time we do accomodate a lot of boats that draw 5.6 feet (they go over tides with us and decide when they feel safe coming over our shallow area), but if your draft is greater than that, we recommend you call us with exact dates so we can go over tides and help with your decision. I am sorry to say that if your boat draws close to 6 feet, we still cannot recommend coming into our marina. One option for you would be to dock in a nearby deeper draft more basic marina and come stay in a room or villa to enjoy our beautiful resort. We do occasionally have deep draft vessels anchor out nearby and visit by dinghy. Contact the dock office directly at 305-743-9000, option 2 to discuss dinghy dockage options.
Q: what is the price for a 1/2 day of fishing for 2 people?
A: Bob, we have such a wide variety of charters available that this is a many faceted question. The range of half day rates for 2 would be from $450.00 on a Backcountry skiff all the way up to $1200.00 on the largest Offshore charter, with many options between. Our trips are all private charters with the crew working just for you (a very cool experience!), so you could reduce the rate on the larger boats by finding someone to pair up with on the charter. We don't have a head boat where you just buy a seat on the boat, but we do keep a split board at the Dockside Store to facilitate your contacting others that share your interests in fishing.
Q: How is the fishing in March? I'm interested in coming down with a few friends. Would like to target snapper, grouper and others
A: Eugene, Snapper fishing should be good in March (REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR FILETS TO TOM'S HARBOR HOUSE FOR HOOK AND COOK), and Grouper may be biting well, but many species of Grouper are catch and release in March. March is a real transition month between winter and spring species so you are likely to shots at a wide variety of fish.
Q: We are coming in Mid March. What will be biting and what are sea conditions (generally) in march. I have brought my boat to hawks cay before but it was in summer when seas are better. Please advise.
A: Woody, March is a transition month, with winter Sailfish and Kingfish moving out and the first of summer Mahi starting to appear, so you may have shots a wide variety of species. By mid March, we are also often starting to see Tarpon trickle in for the beginning of the spring migration, so we have some great shallow water options beginning to show up too. Sea conditions, like fish species, are pretty much dependant on fronts coming through, but we should have warm weather and lots of nice days to enjoy having the boat here.
Q: I will be coming down in the next couple of weeks and would like to run the inside because i never did that before. Any advice? ie. depth, danger areas, ect.
A: Not knowing your boat size makes it a little hard to answer this, but you can run the ICW in Florida Bay in the Keys and cross over to the Atlantic at the Channel 5 Bridge about 7.5 miles north east of us. Boats drawing close to 5 feet need to watch the tides, and of course, you need to follow your nautical charts carefully to avoid shallow areas. If you're heading in to see us, please book your boat slip in advance. You can find rates and some super specials on our marina website.
Q: I am planning on joining Admirals Cove group in January. I need to know the depth of the entrance to the Marina. In a smaller boat I remeber the entrance to be quite shallow. Our boat draws 6' Boat is 75 x 20 beam.
A: Our advertised controlling depth is 5 feet due to one shallow area in our entrance channel, but we do have fairly many boats that draw 5.6 feet that come in carefully using tide information. If you draw every bit of 6 feet, we cannot recommend trying to navigate our channel, but we are looking for options for the large vessels in your club. We will follow up with your group coordinator.
Q: Is there any shore or bridge fishing within the resort or a short walk?
A: Todd, in addition to our excellent charter fleet, we do have some great bridge fishing to either side of the resort entrance on US 1. The old bridges along famous US 1, no longer accessible to vehicle traffic, are world renown for fishing. You can rent gear from Sundance Watersports or bring your favorite rod along with you. Come by the Dockside Store for your Live Shrimp, Pinfish or Crabs or an assortment of frozen baits.
Q: If I'm staying with you, do you have a place to park my jetski?
A: Gene, we offer our guests trailer parking on a space available basis at $25/night which includes use of our great double-wide paved ramp. If you want to keep the jetski in the water, we can set you up in a slip in our main marina. Rates will vary with time of year and what specials we may be offering, so call for details at 305-743-9000, option 2. We'll see you at the marina!
Q: I will be staying at your resort for 4 weeks beginning Oct 22nd. I would like to rent a kayak or 2 during part of that time. Is that possible during this time of yr? Thanks!
A: Lori, Sundance Watersports has Kayak rentals right here in the marina. They offer hourly, half day and full day rentals, and you can get more details by contacting them directly at 305-743-0145. They'll be happy to help you with local knowledge about where to go and what is cool to see!
Q: Is their a fee or space available for 20 ft boats who want to dine on property during the day for a few hours.
A: James, The Beach Grill is our lunch-time bar and restaurant. To protect the privacy of our guests, the Beach Grill, which is on the water between 2 pools, is set up to handle Resort and Marina guests only, so we would have to check you in to a slip to get you to the lunch restaurant. The great news is that once you check in to your slip, you'll have access to pools and other resort amenities as well as the Beach Grill. Contact us at 305-743-9000, option 2 for specials on dockage rates. If you want to come in for Dinner, the Terrace and Alma do serve non-resort guests, so we can bring you into a complimentary slip for dinner
based on availabilty. We depart the Dock Office at 6pm, so contact us prior to 6pm for a slip number.
Q: Hello. Could you help us plot a course from Naples,FL to your Resort on board a 35' Cruiser. Any assistance would be helpful! TY
A: Phil, I am going to give you the same information I gave to Pete who is heading this way from Marco Island.
Q: Could you help us to plot the best navigational course from Marco Island, FL to your resort cruising by water on a 37' with a 4' draft.

Q: is the marina convenient for a sailboat 35' with 5' draft?
and do you have long term dock rental. is the dock on the sea side or ICW side?
A: Alec, We are happy to accommodate Sailboats with drafts to 5 feet or slightly deeper. We do have a 5 foot hump in the channel that brings you from our Oceanside entrance into the marina, so you will want to go over tides with us when you narrow down your dates so that you avoid arriving and departing on dead low tide.
We have monthly rates which include utilities and access to our beautiful destination resort. Please contact us with dates so we can discuss rates and availability. We are reached directly at 305-743-9000, option 2.
Q: hello, I would like to get away with our watercraft in tow. Can we reserve a room and use your ramp to launch our jet skis? Is there a fee involved?
A: Bruce, when you arrive to stay at Hawks Cay with your PWC in tow, check in at the dock office. We will tag your trailer showing that it belongs here. Your $25/night trailer parking fee includes use of the ramp. Trailer parking is on a space available basis, but we are usually able to accomodate PWC trailers.
If you want to keep the PWC in the water, we can offer a 25%discount off our normal main marina rate, and that rate would include a slip in the water, trailer parking and use of the ramp. Just let us know what works best for you. If you know in advance that you want a slip, call ahead (305-743-9000, option 2) to reserve your spot.
Q: Is there bay shallow fishing too (prefer less deep waters)?

Q: do you rent sailboats and do you give sailing lessons. I am a beginner sailer and would like to get an open water certification
A: Patrick, unfortunately we do not offer sailing or sailing instruction at this time. Our only "wind-driven" instruction is Kiteboarding, and you can contact Aaron Osters at 305-942-9635 for more information.
Q: Are there any boats available for rental?

Q: We haven't booked our rooms yet, but will be doing so soon. We have a 27 foot angler that we will want to dock there duting our stay. Do we have to pay a daily fee for the use of guest slips?

If you don't need to have your boat in the water during your stay we do offer a $25 per day trailer parking fee that includes access to our boat ramp for you to drop your boat when you need to.
