    Our restaurant servers may work at one of the 5 restaurants Hawks Cay Resort has to offer.  Servers are responsible for communicating effectively with guests to take orders, recommend items, provide information about the menu and the resort, as well as be able to serve and prepare guest checks with accuracy.  Servers will also work with other Associates in the restaurants to ensure cleanliness and sufficient product supply.



    Some requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
    • Previous serving experience required
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English
    • Must be able to frequently lift 25 – 50 lbs. safely

    Massage Therapist (FT & PT & FT Seasonal)

    Must be a “problem solver,” capable of quickly and efficiently resolving staff complaints regarding product or service, rates, and personnel performance standards.

    Must be totally knowledgeable regarding the source and location of all supplies and   inventory, and for maintaining adequate levels of supplies to conform to revenue opportunities while maintaining operating and budgetary integrity.

    Be diligent in maintaining condition, cleanliness, and maintenance of spa facility, treatment rooms, grounds and back of house areas.  Keep accurate records of warranties and work in progress.  Maintain a daily log of facility safety and cleanliness checks.

    Help to coordinate the scheduling of work staff required for Treatment Rooms.

    Collaberate to develop revenue enhancing and cost saving strategies and present to Spa Supervisor for review.

    Collaberate to implement strategies for massage and treatment options in off – spa locations to maximize revenue and increase exposure.

    Be totally knowledgeable in the resort’s Spa’s and other Emergency procedures, to include the review of action to be taken, including evacuation plans, in case of Fire, Bomb Threat, or Natural Disaster, and action to be taken in regard to other incidents, such as rape, robbery, burglary, or medical emergency and to ensure that all subordinate staff are fully trained and capable of responding according to resort policies and procedures.

    Take the necessary precautions to safe-guard at all times the resort’s funds, records, and equipment entrusted to the departments in his/her area of responsibility.

    Acts as a leader in the absence of the Spa Supervisor and maintains established guidelines.



    Some requirements: 

    Currently licensed in massage therapy. Florida licensed preferred. Applicants should have two to three years of experience in a customer service capacity in high-end Spa.     Food Service Attendant / Assistant (Food Service Busser/ Runner)

    Bus person will aid waitstaff in clearing soiled dishes from tables, placing dishes in bus pans, taking full pans from dining area or counter to dish machine area and aids dishwasher in stacking soiled dishes if time allows.

    Aids waitstaff in setting-up station for next group of diners.  Maintains satisfactory level of supplies (china, silver, glassware, linens and paper goods, etc.) and food items by carrying clean stock of supplies from dish machine area and storerooms and food items from kitchen area.

    May be required to check and clean guest rest rooms, keep dining room and counter areas clean, vacuum carpeted areas, mop tiled areas and empty waste containers from all areas of dining room or restaurant.

    After initial training and/or on special occasions (especially buffets), bus person may be asked to carry platters of food through dining area, serving those guests that desire second portions.

    After closing:   aids the waitstaff in cleaning dining areas and in setting up for next day's business.  May aid dishwasher with cleaning tasks in kitchen and utility areas.  May work as counter person or waiter as per needs of supervisor and may perform other specifically assigned tasks designated by supervisor.

    Provide other services and duties requested by your immediate supervisor or your department head.



    Some requirements:

    Must be neat, courteous and reliable.  Applicants should have a good physical appearance with hair neatly trimmed and clean fingernails.  Although a complete high school education is not always a requirement for this position, employment and advancement prospects are brighter for high school graduates.  Employment does not depend, as a rule, on previous experience.  In most food service operations this job is considered a beginning one.

    On-Call Banquet Set Up/ Server

    part time

    Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.

    Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

    Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.

    Comply at all time with Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

    Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

    Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.

    Ensure the correct and timely set up of all Banquet Event Order functions.

    Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the banquet function space, pre-function space, and storage areas to include the carpet, walls, walks, doors, windows, heating/air conditioning units, etc.

    Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and organized manner stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for meetings or food service functions.

    Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher location, and follow all hotel safety rules.

    Breakdown after the completion of functions and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly.

    Transport and store tables, chairs, and other equipment.

    Refresh meeting rooms as needed.

    Maintenance Engineers

    full time

    Must be capable of performing repairs to electrical systems, appliances, house wiring and air-conditioning systems, switches, fixtures and motors. 

    Must be capable of making repairs on plumbing fixtures, piping, drains, sanitary systems and cisterns. 

    Performs general mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, automotive equipment and other miscellaneous equipment that exists in the resort. 

    Should have a professional knowledge of carpentry and painting.

    Keeps records as required by company policy and procedure, or assists the Chief Engineer in record keeping related to preventive maintenance and work performed.  Maintains logs on the various aspects of operation of systems as directed. 

    Assists in work and safety training programs, may function as the safety advisor for the maintenance department.



    Some requirements: 

    High School graduate, preferably with some college or technical training.  Individuals that have graduated from an accredited educational institute or technical school, or that have completed training courses in repair and maintenance in air conditioning, electricity and plumbing will be given preference for this position.  Education should include three or more years of mathematics and at least two years of English language.

     

              Must must be completely service-oriented and capable of dealing with the public in a warm, friendly and courteous manner at all times. He/she must be capable of dealing with guests in an effort to resolve complaints  quickly and efficiently, providing the highest degree of service possible.

                 Individual should have at least two years prior experience or five or more years experience in general maintenance with a large company, institution, military organization or similar facility.  Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a definite plus.

    Housekeeping Attendant

    full time

    Report in; obtain room assignment sheet—noting any special instructions or VIP information—and room master key or room keys.

    Check cart and caddy(s) to ensure proper and adequate supplies are available to begin cleaning rooms; proceed to first room.

    If a "DO NOT DISTURB" (Privacy Please) sign is on the door, do not try to enter room unless otherwise instructed by Supervisor or Manager.  Otherwise, knock on door and say "Housekeeping"  wait a few seconds - then repeat procedure.  If no answer:

     

    a)     Open door and turn on light.

    b)     Position room attendant cart with open side facing room. Remove caddy and vacuum and enter room.

    c)     Open drapes, turn on all lights, check A/C and TV, and balcony or patio.

    d)     While moving around room, collect trash, empty ash trays (be sure any fire is out) into waste baskets.  Empty wastebaskets into trash bag on cart.

    e)     Place ash trays, glasses, ice buckets and empty waste baskets in bathroom to be washed.

    f)      If food trays are in room, cover tray with napkin and place in entrance foyer. 

    g)     Return to cart, gather supplies and bring into unit.

    h)     Strip beds, collect soiled linen and terry; carry all soiled linen and terry to cart and place in linen bag on cart.

    i)      Clean bathtub, shower area, bathroom walls and doors, vanity sink, mirrors, toilet.  Replace room supplies and amenities; clean bathroom floor (be sure to remove, clean and replace sink stoppers).

    j)      Make bed(s), clean and dust room furniture and fixtures, closet, and patio or balcony, connecting doors, sliding glass doors and tracks, and access door.

    k)     Vacuum carpet, adjust drapes, spray room deodorizer (work your way from farthest corner of room to entry door).

    l)      Return caddy and vacuum to cart; turn-out lights, close and lock door.

    m)   Record room status on room assignment sheet, noting any repair and maintenance needs; proceed to next room.

     

    Upon completion of room assignments, return cart to designated closet; remove linen and trash bags (soiled linen goes to laundry, trash to dumpster),  clean cart and restock with supplies for next day, wait for Supervisor to arrive and sign off on daily assignment sheet.

    Turn-in assignment sheet and keys to Housekeeping Office.  Perform any extra or special duties assigned by Supervisor or Manager.



    Some requirements:

    Although a complete high school education is not a requirement for this position, employment and advancement prospects are much brighter for high school graduates.  Education should include at least two years of English language and two years of mathematics.  The ability to communicate clearly with Resort guests and staff members is essential.  Room attendants should be neat, clean, well-groomed, and be capable of establishing a rapport with our guests in a warm, friendly and courteous manner at all times.

    Cosmetologist/ Nail Technician FT

    Bell Attendant/ Tram Drivers

    full time

    To remain posted at the assigned station on the front porch, or on the front steps, awaiting resort arrivals or a call to perform other duties. 

    To greet arriving guests in a warm, friendly and courteous manner at all times, opening the passengers’ doors arriving vehicles whenever possible. 

    To remove luggage from arriving vehicles and place on luggage carts (if needed) in a protective and orderly manner (solid, heavy pieces on the bottom, etc), while directing the arriving guest to the correct check-in desk (Concierge's desk or Front Desk). 

    Join guest at check-in desk; receive key from receptionist (or ask guest for key) and escort guest to assigned room or suite; explaining enroute our facilities and parking arrangements. 

    Upon arrival at guest's assigned room, unlock and open room door; step into the room (glancing around quickly to make sure room is vacant and ready); then remove key, step aside and invite guest in.  Hand key to guest; explain room amenities and unload and position luggage in manner prescribed by company policy. 

    During quiet periods you will be asked and expected to:  deliver guest mail, messages, and VIP amenities; to keep the front entrance drive and walkways clean and free of debris; to maintain your work area and equipment in a clean and ready state and to perform many varied duties. 

    When called to check-out a guest, ask for the guest’s name, room number and number of pieces of luggage.  Respond quickly (taking a luggage cart if necessary).  Introduce yourself, address the guest by name, and converse with the guest on the way out. 

    Load the guest’s luggage into vehicle carefully and considerately.  Thank the guest for visiting us and invite them to return.

    It is essential you become thoroughly familiar with the resort; it's bars and restaurants and other outlets and that you strive continually to develop a "polished" presentation of these facilities to our arriving guests.

    It will also be necessary for you to know, or become familiar with, area outside services, shops, entertainment, attractions, transportation, etc., to be able to recommend these to our guests as the need arises...always remembering to recommend and promote the resort’s services first.

    Provide scheduled airport and other transportation for our guests. 

    Provide security to the Lobby, Front Desk and Guest rooms, reporting any strange or suspicious actions by guests or visitors to your supervisor, or to the Front Office Manager or Manager-on-Duty. 

    Have knowledge of the resort's seasonal rates and special packages or be able to direct the guest to the right source for this information. 

    Become fully familiar with all resort policies and procedures, especially all FIRE AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. 

    Assist in training new bell staff as requested by your supervisor. 

    Provide other services as requested by the Front Desk staff or by supervisory personnel, or by the General Manager. 

    Check the resort guest vans upon arrival at work and prior to leaving for the day, to ensure they are clean, gassed-up and in a constant state of readiness.



    Some Requirements:

    Must be neat, clean, and well-groomed, courteous and possess a pleasing personality and good speaking voice.  Must have good rapport with people and be completely service-oriented.  Since this is an entry-level position, a complete high school education is not essential; however high school graduates are preferred (high school students may be employed as Bell Staff while continuing their educations).  Education should include at least two years of English language and one to two years of mathematics.  Prior hotel experience would be considered a plus.
